Essentially Soap started business in 2005 making natural hand crafted soap. It has grown into a quality gift shop selling unique and often limited edition items trading in Windsor Royal Station, Windsor, Berkshire.
Essentially Soap is an ethical trading company. We try to treat everybody well. Customers, suppliers, whoever we deal with. We try to find like minded suppliers. We watch the effect of the company's activities on the natural environment. We attempt to trade honestly and fairly.
We try to find suppliers from cottage industries in the UK as well as less affluent countries world-wide.
A number of items like the Buddhas and the windchimes have come from a Buddhist run non-profit making supplier. All the company's profits are distributed by a charity called The Windhorse Trust. It funds projects like:
Well digging in Kenya,
Equipment and essential repairs to schools in Bali,
Computer equipment and scholarships to children in North China.
Hurricane relief and building new schools in Guatemala
